Biography: Principal & Director of Coogan Bergin Beauty Clinic and CollegeSheila is one of the best known figures in the Irish Beauty Industry. A multi award winning business woman she trained as a Beauty Therapist back in 1980. Her career started in Limerick where she was the head tutor in Limericks first college of Beauty Therapy. From there she travelled to France where she expanded her in depth knowledge of all things ‘Beauty’. She also gained valuable knowledge of the emerging Spa market, which later placed her at the forefront of the developing Spa industry here at home where she is the MD of Thalgo, the leading Marine Based skin care brand.As the spa market began to emerge Sheila’s knowledge was in great demand and she worked on some of the most prestigious projects in the country including the K Club spa fit out. At the Villa Spa in Killashee house she was the consultant for both conception & design and at both Mount Wolseley & Dunboyne Castle she did both the design & build from conception to opening.For the past twenty five years Sheila has supplied the Thalgo brand to Coogan Bergin Clinic & College of Beauty Therapy which first opened its doors in 1982. In 2009 the exciting opportunity arose for her to take over the Clinic & College. Having always been passionate about teaching and training standards within the beauty arena, she jumped at the chance to take on this already successful business and reenergise it with all the most up to date treatments & therapies. Bringing all her vast experience to bear, she undertook a total refurbishment of the premises, the result of which is without doubt the most stunning salon in Dublin and quite possibly the whole of Ireland.“Having designed and decorated so many spas for clients in the past it was a real thrill to finally do it for myself. Being located on Wicklow Street in the heart of the city center, I was really clear that I didn’t want to brand as a spa- we are a high street beauty salon but have created a true oasis of calm and relaxation for our clients. The end result is a salon built & decorated to 5* spa standards. I just love it. The decor is truly stunning and I am so proud of the end result. You can’t hear a sound of the city when in the salon. It’s hard to believe that the buzz of Grafton Street is only twenty paces from our door.The college is also amazing and has been transformed from a functional space into large light filled areas that offer the very best in facilities for our students. This combined with the already famed reputation of our teaching methods and exam success rate – 98% over a twenty eight year period, means we really do have the winning formula when it comes to choosing a college”.Besides her work as MD of Thalgo Ireland and her passionate role as Principal & Director of Coogan Bergin Beauty Clinic and College, Sheila is kept on her toes running a very busy household. She is married to Joseph an accountant and co-director of the various businesses with her. They have six children ranging in age from 8 to 28.And at the moment are fostering six Celebrities!!!!
