Biography: Qualified from Trinity College Dublin in 1994. After working in a private practice in Dublin, Michael set up a general dental practice in Austin Friar Street Mullingar in 1999. From 2006 he has been based in Market Point Medical Park and rebranded his clinic in 2018 to Maguire Dental Care and located to Green Road [beside Aldi and Careplus Pharmacy] His practice ethos is to build a relationship with patients, taking them through life with a healthy functioning dentition. He enjoys meeting people and endeavours to prolong his patients’ oral health. This begins with an initial consultation or relief of pain through to a maintenance regime which Michael believes is centred around the hygienist care programme. Michael particularly enjoys aesthetic and restorative dentistry and attends courses on an ongoing basis to keep up to date with latest dental innovations in order to provide the most up to date dental care for his patients. Michael is a member of the Irish Faculty of Primary Dental Care and the Irish Dental Association. Michael lives in Mullingar. He trains underage teams for Shandonagh GAA Club and recently sponsored Shandonagh Ladies GAA team with new jerseys. He also sponsored Mullingar Athletic Kestrels U13 boys Soccer jerseys. He is a keen golfer and a member of Mullingar Golf Club.

Ms Susan Carr

Biography: Susan qualified from Trinity College Dublin in 2003. A native of Mullingar, she joined Michael Maguire after qualifying. Since then, Susan has built a reputable client base; helping our patients feel relaxed whilst educating and helping them maintain good oral habits. Susan is an integral part of the Maguire Dental Care Team. Susan has a calm and compassionate approach to all patients. She is enthusiastic about her job and carries out thorough, proficient and modern treatments with personalised oral hygiene regimes for each patient. She enjoys enhancing people’s teeth by improving the health of their gums, stain removal or teeth whitening, all of which ensures a confident smile. Prior to completing her dental hygiene qualification, she worked as a qualified Dental Nurse with Dr. Maguire.

Ms Katie Murtagh

Biography: Katie qualified as a dental hygienist from University College Cork in 1997 and has since worked in private practices in London, Dublin, Navan, Carrick-on-Shannon and in the NHS. Katie has a calm and compassionate approach to all patients. Ms Patricia Faulkner

Biography: Patricia is your first point of contact alongside Janice and Niamh at reception and is extremely proficient in assisting patients with all enquiries. She is exceptionally good at easing nervous patients due to her kind and caring nature. Away from the practice Patricia likes to support her local team – St Brigid’s Hurling Club, she also enjoys cycling and yoga.

Ms Niamh Mc Dermott

Biography: Niamh is a dedicated dental nurse and has a high regard for patient care and comfort. She started working for Michael Maguire in 2016 and her interests lie in oral surgery and general dentistry.In 2023, Niamh took on the role as practice manager and with her vast knowledge from working in dentistry, she is a valuable asset to the team. Niamh is always happy to be faced with a challenge and works to expand her knowledge and skills further. Outside of work Niamh enjoys playing gaelic football for St Mary’s Rochfortbridge.

Ms Tracey Mc Loughlin

Biography: Tracey has been a dental nurse for nine years. She trained and qualified at Trinity College Dublin. Throughout her years of dental nursing she has worked alongside dentists and specialists, particularly with periodonists. Tracey began working with Michael as receptionist and now leads the nursing team. Tracey lives in Mullingar and her keep fit pursuits include spinning.

Biography: Dr. Maryna Stepanova Maryna qualified as a dentist from Odessa National Medical University in 2016. With a passion for oral health, she has garnered experience in private practices in Ukraine. In January 2023, Maryna joined the  Maguire Dental Care team.Her guiding principles in dentistry are rooted in integrity and honesty. Maryna firmly believes in delivering dental care with the same honesty and decency she would expect for herself.Outside of dentistry, she finds solace and inspiration in immersing into nature, swimming and painting by numbers.

Mr Paul Mc Partland

Biography: Following his graduation from Trinity College, Paul worked in the UK before returning home to Ireland and working in private practice in Dublin. He then completed his membership examinations with RCSI before completing a 3-year postgraduate Master’s degree in Endodontology in the UK. All endodontic assessments and treatments are completed using our state-of-the-art microscope. Paul also works in a referral practice in Dublin. Our endodontic/endodontic referral process has been to initially arrange a 30-minute endodontic consultation with the patient. At this appointment, a full treatment plan will be formulated and the patient will be informed of their treatment needs. If endodontic treatment is not suitable for a given case or patient, they will be informed of their alternative options and referred back to their referring dentist.Root canal treatment removes bacteria from the infected root canal, prevents reinfection of the tooth and saves the natural tooth.

Biography: Mr Richard Carr Specialist Oral SurgeonBSc(Hons), BDS(Hons), MFDS RCSEd, MB ChB, Int.Dip.EWM RCPS(Glasg), MFTM RCPS(Glasg), FFD RCSI (OS&OM) D.Ch.Dent (OS) (TCD) IMC 421898, IDC 1719 Specialist Reg 3DS25Richard is qualified as a Dental Surgeon (Cardiff 2010) as well as a Medical Doctor (Bristol 2016). He initially trained in general dentistry, completing vocational training in the UK, before taking hospital posts in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Orthodontics in the UK. Following medical qualification, he rotated through junior doctor posts including acute medicine, general and plastic surgery, emergency medicine and even acute psychiatry. He entered surgical training in Ireland in 2018, training in general surgery and trauma & orthopaedics in Cork before returning to Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at St James’s Hospital in Dublin. Richard completed his specialist training in Oral Surgery at Dublin Dental University Hospital/Trinity College Dublin. His specialist training has also specifically encompassed facial pain and sedation. He passed his speciality fellowship exams in Oral Surgery and Oral Medicine in April 2021 through the RCSI.Richard provides a full range of Oral Surgery services at Maguire Dental Care: Surgical extractions/third molar surgery, facial pain, soft tissue evaluation/biopsy, TMJ problems, grafting/sinus lift, orthodontic exposures and implantology. The practice has CBCT and this is often utilised when indicated. Richard offers treatment under IV sedation and is able to offer treatment on insurance on a part participating basis.What to expect if you refer: In general, Mr Carr always arranges a dedicated assessment visit before providing surgery.

Biography: Clara was born in Scotland and has a deep connection with Columbia where her father is from.Clara qualified in Scotland in 2005 and has worked in Scotland and Australia before moving to Ireland in 2010 when she followed her heart and an Irish man.Clara worked in Dublin in a specialised clinic gaining a huge knowledge in the dental field until moving to Mullingar in 2015 where she continued working as a dental nurse and joined the Maguire Dental Care Team in August 2020.She loves fitness and quality family time with her husband and two children.Clara fitted in immediately with the Maguire Dental Care Team. Her friendly manner, humour and rapport with our patients makes her such an asset here at the practice.

Biography: Dr.Robert Hardy     Practice limited to Orthodontics BDS (Hons), MFDS RCSEd., MPDC RCSEd., PGDip Orth, MSc.Originally from Limerick, Robert qualified from Cardiff University in 2011 with Honours and has since gained a wide range of experience in general dental practice and Orthodontics in the UK and Ireland. Robert has a special interest in Orthodontics and provides fixed and removable orthodontics, interceptive orthodontics and Invisalign. He is particularly interested in cases which require pre-prosthetic orthodontics prior to restorative treatment or implant therapy.
