Clint Wilkie and Stephen Armstrong are dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal problems, including neck and back problems, sports injuries, headaches, occupational related disorders and can provide post-operative rehabilitation.

We offer one to one Pilates sessions with treatment complemented by the use of the Pilates Reformer machine which is extremely valuable in resolving spinal stability problems.

The clinic can offer early and late appointment times to suit your availability.

Biography: APA Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist APA Sports Physiotherapist                                                                                                                   MISCP APAM MCSPClint founded Barrow Spinal & Sports Physiotherapy in 2004 and re-named it to PHYSIO CARLOW in 2012. In 2014 we relocated to Askea.  He has invested years of expertise, experience and dedication into a clinic that believes in providing the highest standard of healthcare.Clint is an Australian physiotherapist who graduated from LaTrobe University; he has constantly improved his knowledge and skills since, having completed a Graduate Diplomas in both Acupuncture and Occupational Health and Safety Management; he has recently completed his Masters of Musculoskeletal & Sports Physiotherapy at Griffith University.  Having worked in the public and private sectors in Australia, England and Ireland; as a Senior 1 Clinician in the UK and as a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist within the HSE in Ireland, Clint has gained a wealth of experience in orthopaedic, musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy. Clint is very pro active in his approach to physiotherapy and sports medicine; he has a strong belief in hands on approaches with specific rehabilitation programmes to return clients to their chosen activities. He uses a combination of manual techniques, neural mobilisation, Clinical Pilates and manipulation often in conjunction with acupuncture and dry needling.

Biography: BSc, MISCP, GSR, NASM CPT, Chartered Physiotherapist & Sports RehabilitatorStephen is a highly motivated Senior Physiotherapist. Stephen has worked across a number of sporting and clinical levels and in a variety of sporting codes. To this day he is still an avid sportsman. Stephen comes from Greystones, Co. Wicklow, where he was first introduced to the world of rugby at a young age. It was this love of rugby that inspired him to pursue a career in Physiotherapy and sports injuries. During his sporting pursuits Stephen eventually represented Ireland in an international tour to Italy.His career in rugby continued into his college years where he achieved the honor of captaining his college team to cup success and winning the sports man of the year award in 2009.Stephen completed a Bachelors degree from Middlesex University at the London Sports institute in Sports Rehabilitation and Injury Prevention. During his time here Stephen was privileged to have worked with many London 2012 Olympic Hopefuls and in the Medical Tent at four London Marathons.On return from England, Stephen completed his second Bachelors degree in Physiotherapy where he attended the Prestigious Trinity College Dublin. During his time at Trinity, Stephen joined his local Gaelic Football club, where he has spent the last five years in the club improving athletic performance and reducing injury and injury risk.Following his completion of his Physiotherapy degree, Stephen volunteered at the Central Remedial Clinic in Clondalkin, where he worked with children with varying levels of disability. Stephen was then fortunate to have worked for the Santry Sports Clinic. Until he transferred his efforts, to work at UPMC Beacon hospital in Dublin where he currently still practices outside of working at Physio Carlow. He covers a multitude of areas including orthopaedics, cardio-respiratory medicine and oncology.Stephen was also a part of a successful clinic in Longford where he has spent the last year treating many different conditions within the community. He has also experienced and worked in all areas of Physiotherapy completing more than 2,000 hours of clinical training over the course of his two degrees.After leaving college, Stephen has furthered his knowledge in a multiple of areas, including kinesio taping, lower back pain treatment and management, cancer rehabilitation to name but a few. He continues to this day to explore and further his knowledge in various other areas of Physiotherapy.Stephen is a highly motivated, enthusiastic and positive Physiotherapist who is focused on successful patient outcomes and results. He has a particular interest in musculoskeletal injuries, along with orthopaedic rehabilitation and looks forward to using his experience to continue to educate and improve the health of all walks of life in the local community.

Biography: MISCPKyla completed her BSc Physiotherapy in UCD with a first class honours. During her undergraduate degree she worked in all aspects of physiotherapy in the main Dublin hospitals. She also worked with the Irish Student Rugby League and the UCD Senior Hurling teams.Kyla enjoys all types of sports and exercise but her strongest interest at the moment is in pilates. Kyla is a STOTT Pilates trained instructor, with experience teaching classes and individual focused classes.One of her achievements is to have completed a research paper which has been presented at medical conferences and has been published in Physiotherapy Practice and Research Journal.
