About PhysioFusion

PhysioFusion is a dynamic Physiotherapy, Sports Injuries and Pilates Clinic, located in a central Dublin location, adjacent to Leeson St. Bridge. Experienced Chartered Physiotherapists Lorraine Hanrahan and Audrey Redmond have a particular interest in exercise-based rehabilitation and pilates-based core strengthening. We offer all ranges of pilates classes, from beginners to advanced, mens pilates, and also pre & post natal classes in our spacious studio. Parking is readily available. The clinic is also accessible by luas, bus and dublin bikes.

Biography: Lorraine graduated from UCD in 2001 and completed a Masters degree in Manipulative Physiotherapy in The University of Queensland (Australia) in 2003, graduating with first class honours. This comprehensive Masters degree placed a strong emphasis on the treatment of complex neck and back pain. She returned to Australia in 2006 to train as a Stott Pilates Instructor, and following this she also completed certification in pregnancy and postnatal pilates. She uses her pilates training in the prescription of injury prevention and rehabilitation programmes for her clients.Lorraine was also selected by the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG) to work as a Sports Physiotherapist in the Athlete’s Village at the London 2012 games. She has worked as team physiotherapist with several rugby clubs over a nine year period – UCC RFC, St. Mary’s RFC, and UCD RFC. She is currently a member of the FAI’s International Medical Staff, and travels with the WU17 and WU19 teams to UEFA qualifiers (Belfast 2010, Macedonia 2011, Oslo 2012, Austria 2013, Holland 2014). She travelled with the Women’s Senior International team to the Algarve Cup in March 2012. Lorraine was a physiotherapy consultant for Reckitt Benckiser for the production of their Nurofen Headache App in 2013, and attended a follow-up international headache medical conference in London later that year.She is experienced with all areas of sports injury management including exercise prescription, orthotic prescription, kinesiotaping and dry needling. Rehabilitation of chronic groin injuries and anterior cruciate ligament repairs are her areas of particular clinical interest.

Mrs Audrey Redmond

Biography: Audrey is a member of both the UK Chartered Society of Physiotherapists, and the Irish Society of Physiotherapists. She has gained over ten years of experience in physiotherapy since graduating from the University of Pretoria in 1998 with first class honours. Audrey is also a qualified Stott Pilates Instructor, including training in prenatal and postnatal instruction.  Audrey, a member of the National Osteoporosis Society of the UK,  is actively raising awareness of Osteoporosis and is an advocate of the benefits of safe exercise as a preventative measure

Biography: Sarah Jane graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a BSc Hons Degree in Physiotherapy in 1998.  She subsequently practised physiotherapy in Ireland, New Zealand and Australia before completing her masters in Sports Physiotherapy from the University of Queensland, Australia in 2004.  Sarah Jane was part of medical staff for Team Ireland at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and at the 2012 London Olympics.  She is resident physiotherapist in the Irish Institute of Sport and Swim Ireland’s High Performance Centre in Dublin. She is also a certified Pilates instructor in both matwork and reformer.

Biography: Jennifer obtained her BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy degree from Trinity College in 2005. After graduating she spent three years working in The Royal Hospital Donnybrook and Naas General Hospital where she gained extensive experience treating a range of neurological, respiratory, orthopaedic and musculoskeletal conditions. In 2012 she specialised in neuromusculoskeletal physiotherapy by completing a masters programme from the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia.  This qualification developed advanced clinical skills in all areas of musculoskeletal pain with an emphasis on spinal pain. She uses a “hands on” approach to patient treatment combining manual therapy, dry needling and exercise prescription to achieve best results for patients.To further her knowledge and gain valuable experience she spent a year working in a busy private practice in New Zealand. Here she worked with a premiership rugby team and swimming team and developed her skills in treating a variety of musculoskeletal and sports injuries. On return to Ireland, Jennifer continued working in private practice. She completed a number of postgraduate courses including myofascial dry needling, orthotic prescription and biomechanical assessment. She is a qualified Pilates teacher obtaining her qualification through the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute in London.

Ms Lee Chambers

Biography: Lee completed her Master’s degree in Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy in University College Dublin in 2014.  During her years working in New Zealand she specialised in the rehabilitation of complex back & neck pain and we are excited to have her expertise in this area to add to our team in Physiofusion. Lee is also one of the clinics leading physios in the treatment of running injuries. Lee’s recent postgraduate research in UCD focused on strategies used to increase running speed in recreational and elite athletes.  She is a keen marathon distance runner and completed the Dublin City Marathon in 2013.  As a runner herself she can identify with the training commitments required for runners and triathletes, and the frustrations that can arise during injury.  She strives to design challenging & creative methods to keep the injured athlete at optimal fitness during their period of treatment or rehabilitation and she can advise on alternatives to running specific to your injury and fitness level (eg Pilates, swimming, cycling, gym programmes & anti-gravity treadmills). Lee initially trained as a clinical Pilates instructor in New Zealand (Dance Medicine Australia) and since returning to Ireland has gained further Pilates certification from the Australian Physiotherapy & Pilates Institute.  Her dual certification enables her to teach dynamic and exciting classes using a range of small equipment with a high level of attention to detail. Lee has vast experience in the area of physiotherapy for vertigo and vestibular rehabilitation.  This special interest area is one which requires a well trained and experienced physiotherapist and we are pleased to have Lee on site to offer this service at Physiofusion.
