About Antalya Bariatric Center - Prof. Dr. Mehmet Tahir Oruç
We offer to our patients a package including transfer from/ to the airport, a stay of 4-5 nights at the hospital, a full, necessary pre operation check-up. The patient can have 1 companion who can stay with, free of charge.
Our check up includes:
- EKG and a cardiologist consultation (doing an echography as well).
- Breathing test & Chest X-ray and a pulmonologist consultation.
- An abdomen USG
- An Endoscopy with sedation
- A consultation done by the anesthetist.
-Other specific consultations can be done if it’s needed.
The second day after surgery, our patients can meet with the dietitian, and they will have a booklet guiding them about their nutrition.

Biography: Antalya Obesity Center is located in center of Antalya. The clinic is now in the Antalya Medical Park Hospital which is the biggest, fully equipped and reputable hospital in Antalya. In this clinic, all bariatric operations are being applied in a proffessional manner by Prof Dr.Mehmet Tahir Oruç. Prof Dr Mehmet Tahir Oruç has 27 years experience in general surgery and more than 14 years experience in bariatric surgery. Prof Dr Oruç has operated thosands of general surgical operations and more than 2500 bariatric operations with a great success, with a lower than %0.1 reoperation and complication rate and with no mortality. Prof Dr Oruç has worked as Chief of the Surgical Clinic for 10 years in Antalya Teaching and Training Hospital,a large educational volume hospital before having stating in this clinic. ın this hospital he had worked as the head of the department of the clinic where many general surgery specialists were trained. He has performed more than 3000 successful bariatric operation until today personally. He has published 300 articles and presentations in national and international journals and congressş lots of them on bariatric surgery. Prof Dr Oruç has worked in USA, Scotland, Austria in several times as a fellow or trainer; in Pittsburgh, USA in 2002, İn Cushieri Skill Center, Dundee, Scotland and in İn Austria for Bariatric Operation Training. The bariatric operations are Sleeve Gastrectomy, Gastric Bypasses ( RNY gastric bypass, minigastric bypass, transit bipartition) is being applied in the clinic.
