Biography: Founded the Triangle’s first and at the time, only private weight loss surgery center in 2002. As an innovator, he performed Raleigh’s first gastric bypass, first sleeve gastrectomy, and first Lap-Band procedure. To date, Dr. Enochs has performed more Bariatric procedures in the Triangle area than any other bariatric surgeon. Dr. Enochs is the founding partner of Bariatric Specialists of North Carolina. After establishing BSNC, he then started and established programs at Rex Hospital, WakeMed Cary Hospital, and Franklin Regional Medical Center. Presently he serves as the Medical Director of Bariatrics at WakeMed Cary Hospital, serves on the Board of Directors of Rex Surgery Center of Cary, and has served terms as Medical Director of Bariatrics for Rex Hospital and Franklin Regional Medical Center. Dr. Enochs is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a Fellow of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.

Dr Jon Bruce

Biography: Dedicated to providing results-oriented weight loss surgery to every patient. He performs laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding, laparoscopic gastric bypass, and laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy procedures. In addition to Bariatrics, Dr. Bruce performs a wide variety of general and advanced laparoscopic procedures. He has privileges at Rex Hospital, Rex Surgery Center of Cary, Wake Med Cary Hospital, North Carolina Specialty Hospital, and Alamance Regional Medical Center. Dr. Bruce is a partner of Cary Surgical Specialists and Bariatric Specialists of North Carolina. In 2011 with his partner Dr. Tyner, he established Bariatric Specialists of Alamance, the only Bariatric program in Alamance County. He currently serves as the Medical Director of The Macgregor Sleep Center and Envison NutriCenter. Dr. Bruce is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a Fellow of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.

Dr Michael Tyner

Biography: With an extensive history of teaching and mentoring fellow surgeons, Dr. Michael Tyner brings his expertise in general, laparoscopy, and minimally invasive surgery to Bariatric Specialists of North Carolina. He was the first in the area to perform laparoscopic colon surgery, laparoscopic hernia surgery, and laparoscopic hiatal hernia repairs. In the early 2000’s, Dr. Tyner helped Dr. Paul Enochs transition open gastric bypass surgeries to the laparoscopic approach, fueling his interest in Bariatric medicine. Dr. Tyner performs laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding, laparoscopic gastric bypass, and laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy procedures in addition to his advance laparoscopic procedures. Dr. Tyner is the founding partner of Cary Surgical Specialists, a general surgery practice serving the area since 2003. In 2007, Dr. Tyner joined forces with Dr. Bruce, Dr. Enochs, and Bariatric Specialists of North Carolina. In 2011 along with his partner, Dr. Jon Bruce, he established Bariatric Specialists of Alamance. Dr. Tyner has since established a Bariatric program in Benson extending care to those outside of the Triangle. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
