Dr Stephanie Schellenberg

Biography: She is the newest member to the Bedford Dental Centre team. She is a recent graduate of Dalhousie Dental School where she was awarded the Dr. D.S. Precious University Medal in Dentistry. During her final year at Dalhousie she participated in the Advanced Restorative Elective, taking special interest in functional and esthetic crown, bridge and implant work. Prior to dental school, Dr. Schellenberg graduated from St. Francis Xavier University with Advanced Majors in both Biology and Psychology. She is a kind and gentle clinician who emphasizes communication and understanding between herself and her patients. She is a skilled general dentist providing services such as restorations, endodontics (root canal therapy), crown and bridge, implants, children dentistry, and minor oral surgery. Dr. Schellenberg is experienced with modern dental technologies such as dental lasers and digital impressions as well contemporary and esthetic dental materials such as all-ceramic (non-metal) restorations. Outside of the dental office Dr. Schellenberg enjoys playing soccer and spending time with family and friends.

Biography: She graduated from Dalhousie dental school in 2005 with the honour of receiving the University Medal for Dentistry. She is a general dentist, and has been practicing at the Bedford Dental Centre ever since graduating from dental school. Prior to Dalhousie, she received an honours bachelor of science degree from Mount Allison University in New Brunswick. She is dedicated to providing the highest quality of comprehensive dental care for her patient families. She practices all areas of family and cosmetic dentistry, but takes a special interest in implant dentistry. From 2005-2009 she was a part-time clinical instructor in the fourth year implant elective at Dalhousie University. In 2007 she received extra training in implant surgery making it possible to perform implant placement surgeries at Bedford Dental. She is also involved in organized dentistry, being a volunteer member on committees for the Nova Scotia Dental Association. She is known for her kindness, compassion and cheerful, positive attitude. Her smile and easy conversation make patients feel welcome in her operatory. She enjoys keeping the staff connected and motivated with monthly full-office meetings. Her other interests include cooking, travelling, skiing, and family time with her husband and young daughter.

Biography: She is a Dalhousie University Alumni where she earned the Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2008 and a Bachelor of Science degree with honours during her undergraduate studies where she published her research in the Experimental and Molecular Pathology Journal. After graduation, she started her career path as a general dentist in Truro for over a year and a half before joining our team at the Bedford Dental Centre. She has also been a part-time clinical instructor at Dalhousie University from 2008 until the present time. Dr. El-Darahali completed the Implant elective program in her 4th year of dental studies as well. She is a skilled and compassionate clinician in all aspects of general dentistry with interests in paediatric dentistry, endodontic (root canal) and implant dentistry. Through continuing education courses, she strives to remain up to date with advancements in the dental field to ensure that her patients receive the best treatment and care possible. Dr. El-Darahali has a way of making anxious patients feel at ease while under her care due to her calm and pleasant demeanour. She can converse not only in English but also in Arabic, her native language, which is an asset when dealing with non-native English speakers. In her free time she enjoys giving back to the community by volunteering at local charities, spending time with her family, and traveling.
