About Bicton Place Dental
At Bicton Place Dental, we provide excellent dental care for all the family. We believe in minimally invasive dentistry and encourage our patients to attend for regular check-ups to provide preventative care for a healthy smile. We also offer cosmetic treatments including teeth straightening, whitening and smile makeovers.

Dr Oskar Mason

Biography: Oskar Mason BDS, PGDip (Restorative Dentistry), AssFCGDent (GDC no 103273)Oskar qualified from the University of Bristol in 2006. He spent a year working as a Senior House Officer in the Oral Surgery Department of Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton and has also worked in practices in Bristol, Somerset and East Devon. He became the practice owner at Bicton Place in 2022.Oskar is an Associate Fellow of the College of General Dentistry. He has a particular interest in cosmetic dentistry including smile design and facial aesthetics and has completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Restorative and Cosmetic Dentistry from the University of Warwick. He has also completed a further qualification in wrinkle reduction therapies.Oskar enjoys building a strong rapport with his patients through his caring and approachable manner. He lives in East Devon with his wife and daughters. He enjoys dog walks by the seaside, photography and sketching.

Dr Thomas Brew

Biography: Thomas Brew BDS, MFDS (GDC no 251922)Tom is a committed and conscientious dentist with an enthusiasm for high standard, patient-centred care, works with us from Mondays to Thursdays each week.He qualified at the Peninsula Dental School in 2014 and went on to complete his membership exams at Glasgow. He was Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Torbay Hospital for a year and has worked for practices in Crediton, Torquay and abroad in New Zealand.Tom cares for many of our patients general dental and oral health with restorative work and preventative care. He also offers Invisalign braces. Invisalign is a virtually-invisible clear aligner system to straighten teeth, favoured by older as well as younger patients wanting to avoid the traditional ‘tram track’ braces. Mrs Katie Willis

Biography: Katie Willis, (GDC Registration number: 114473), is an experienced and respected hygienist who works with us every Tuesday, and as soon as Covid restrictions ease, every Wednesday as well. She offers our patients a valuable, Dental Hygiene service which can effectively complement their regular dental check-up and clean with their dentist and make a significant difference to oral health and appearance.Katie qualified as a Dental Hygienist at the Eastman Dental Hospital in 2007 and has worked in some high quality dental practices in London, Bath and Devon. We are delighted to have her as part of our team at Bicton Place.Good oral hygiene is critical in preventive dentistry and many of our patients see our hygienist regularly in between their six-nine monthly visit with their dentist in order to maintain a higher level of oral hygiene. As a Dental Hygienist, Katie has been trained to carry out scaling and polishing and can spend longer with a patient on this than a dentist normally can. She is also expert at teaching patients how to look after their teeth and gums. Regular professional cleaning to remove plaque and tartar, combined with looking after your teeth and gums properly at home, will help keep your mouth really healthy. Sometimes our patients may need to spend a number of appointments with Katie in order to get their gums healthy and ready for the dentist to restore teeth with crowns and fillings.

Biography: David Ward BDS, DPDS (GDC no 63007)David qualified at Guy's Hospital, London in 1987 and, following a year in practice, spent the next seven years working in hospital Oral Surgery departments in England and Wales including Torbay and Derriford Hospitals. In 1996 he obtained his Diploma in Post Graduate Dental Surgery at Bristol University.David became a Partner at Bicton Place in 1992 and took over as sole owner from 2016 to 2022. He now continues to work at Bicton Place two days a week.David is a conscientious and meticulous dentist who takes great care in his work and in the treatment of his patients – many of whom he has known for decades. He always strives for excellence.
