Bodyworks Physiotherapy Clinic is a fresh, new and innovative approach to patient care in the Colchester and surrounding areas. In addition to Physiotherapy we also offer a range of services including Acupuncture, Pilates and Women and Men's Health.

Biography: Fran joined the Bodyworks team in October 2019 to train for maternity cover, and in February 2021 took on the permanent role of Practice Manger. She has worked in private hospitals for over 20 years in various administration positions but worked mainly as PA to different consultants and their practices. Fran is married with four children. She enjoys family days out, picnics, biking, swimming and kayaking – anything that gets them all out of the house!

Biography: Claire is a Senior Chartered Physiotherapist having graduated from the University of Birmingham in 1997. She is a specialist in spinal and musculoskeletal conditions, sports injuries, acupuncture and Pilates.Since then Claire has worked predominantly in private practice and has worked closely with orthopaedic consultants in Colchester and London.Claire has attended numerous courses over the last 25 years to gain a greater depth of knowledge in all areas but she has a special interest in treating patients with back pain and shoulder pain. The treatment techniques Claire uses include manual therapy such as mobilisations, massage and trigger point release, taping, electrotherapy and the provision of exercise programmes.

Biography: Caroline is a Senior Chartered Physiotherapist andCaroline has completed many post-grad courses since qualifying and uses a wide range of manual therapy including joint mobilisations; soft tissue techniques; taping; electrotherapy, including shockwave and ultrasound and acupuncture.Caroline uses these manual techniques alongside exercise prescription, advice and self-management techniques to enable everyone to have all the tools they need to get the best outcome they can from Physiotherapy. She is also a fully certified APPI Pilates instructor.

Biography: Lee is a Senior Chartered Physiotherapist and Lee has a specialist interest in Musculoskeletal conditions, especially backs, shoulders and knees. Following this he has since completed rotations at Colchester Hospital in a range of different settings.Lee is interested in helping individuals to return to their normal level of function and activity as well as understanding why injuries occur. Lee is particularly interested in the assessment and treatment of backs, shoulders and knees but enjoys all areas of musculoskeletal physiotherapy.

Biography: Sophie is a Domiciliary Specialist Physiotherapist who has a specialist interest in the rehabilitation of Older People. Sophie graduated from the University of East Anglia in 1999 and completed her Junior Physiotherapy rotations at Colchester University Hospital Foundation Trust, she has gained extensive experience in both the NHS and in private practice. Sophie has a specialist interest in the rehabilitation of Older People, and since 2004 has worked predominantly with this client group both in the hospital setting and in the community. Sophie also has an interest in Parkinson’s disease, Elderly Fallers and rehabilitation post fracture.

Biography: Gemma is a Domiciliary Specialist Physiotherapist with a specialist interest in Stroke and Neurology patients.  emma qualified at King's College in London in 2010 and started her career in physiotherapy completing junior rotations at Southend University before moving to Colchester Hospital in 2016. Early in her career Gemma realised that she really enjoyed working with stroke and neurological patients. She has since worked extensively in stroke and neurology patients in the NHS and community. Gemma is a member of ACPIN, and attends lectures and training events to help her stay up to date with the latest evidence-based practice.She is passionate about delivering patient centered rehabilitation and recognises the value of being very holistic in her approach when working with patients and their families.
