About Building Bridges Counselling and Psychotherapy - Ballyfermot
Making the decision to find a counsellor can be a difficult task, whether it is your first time or you are returning back to counselling. It can be a huge step in itself, as you may be experiencing a number of feelings, such as: what if I look silly, what if my problems seem unimportant or what if I don't know where to start? This is normal; honestly do not let this stop you. Please don't hesitate to call me and ask any questions, and then decide if you would like to come along to a free consultation? It's my belief that we all have our own answers to our difficulties and sometimes all we need is a safe place to explore our concerns. Also there are times when the ones closest to us aren't the best people to discuss our concerns, as our relationships with family and friends can often be the source of our distress. At Building Bridges I provide
a safe caring, non-judgemental and supportive space which allows people to explore issues within their life that are presently causing distress. Therapists use different approaches and interventions to suit the requirements of the client. The goal within the therapeutic relationship is help the client work towards making more positive choices.

Biography: On a personal note, throughout my own counselling experience I experienced clarity concerning my present and past life situations. It was this which prompted me to train as a counsellor. It is with humility and passion that I dedicate myself in the service of the client-therapist relationship. Throughout my training I have become trained in Choice Theory (CT), Reality Therapy (RT) and Person Centred Counselling (PCC). My skills set include working with issues such as relationships, depression, stress/anxiety disorders, substance abuse and eating disorders. I currently hold a degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy coupled with certificates in Addiction, Depression, Sexual Abuse and Suicide. I am committed to engaging in on-going professional training and development. As a current pre-accredited member of the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). Along with my private practice I am a volunteer with the Village Counselling Service in Tallaght for the last 3 years.
