Biography: RESUMEHe was born in Konya in 1961. In 1987 he graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine and in 1993 he completed his General Surgery education at Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine. He worked as chief assistant at Ankara Numune Hospital between 1995-1996. Between 1996 and 2022, he worked as a faculty member at Selçuk University.In 1997, he received training in intensive care and liver transplantation at Brussels Independent University. In 2002-2003, he worked on Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery in the clinic of Prof. Dr. J.L. Dulucq in Bordeaux. In 2004, he worked for a while at the Hammersmith Hospital in London with Prof. Dr. Nagy Habib on the use of RF energy in hepatobiliary surgery. Dr. Şahin served as Vice President of the European Association for Surgical Research and the Turkish Surgical Association. He also served as the Chairman of the Education Commission and Health Commission Membership of the Interuniversity Council. Between 2008-2011, he was the founding chief physician of Selçuk University Selçuk Medical Faculty Hospital and opened the hospital. Between 2011-2015, he served as vice rector.
