Biography: Greg Clements launched the practice in partnership with his wife ,Val, in 1996. At the time he had been working for a large national hearing aid retailer and was motivated by the strong belief that he could do a better job for the clientele as an independent practitioner. Some twenty years on he is not shaken in this belief which was recently vindicated by the results of a Which report concerning hearing care provision, wherein the independent sector (often small service providers such as ourselves) outperformed both the NHS and all the large national chains.This report is readily available online or in the Which magazine and you can read more about it on our blog. That said, and even with several thousand successful hearing aid fittings under his belt,Greg believes he must constantly upgrade his knowledge of hearing aid technology and fitting procedures to enable him to offer the best possible in clinic experience to clients seeking his advice. Recently he has successfully undertaken courses in microsuction wax removal techniques at University College London and practice development at the Unitron Unite University in Manchester. Originally a Business Studies graduate of the University of Cape Town, Greg has been involved in the audiology profession since 1985, qualified as a Hearing Aid Audiologist in 1993, is registered to practice by the Health and Care Professions Council and is a Fellow of the British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists.

Biography: Val Clements has been involved in the practice since its inception in 1996 and is a now co director with Greg, of Clements Hearing Services Ltd.Self effacingly, she is often heard to say that she is not the "technical one" and in so doing she is deferring to Greg. This is not at all a true reflection of her abilities and she is a frequent and keen co-participant (with Greg) at educational events and seminars, Recently notable were her attendances at the Unitron professional development events in Vienna and at the Unite University in Manchester,with specific interest in a seminar on small business branding. In fact ,In another life, Val may well have had a career as an interior designer. Her influence in recent clinic refurbishment has been immense adding that sixth dimension to our practice - physical elements blend and work, colours are striking but co-ordinated. In the words of a long standing loyal client "It's not nice being deaf, but it's nice to have such a lovely place to come to" So whilst Val may defer to Greg on matters of hearing aid technology, he would always defer to her on anything to do with the practice image.
