In 2006 Maria received a Certificate and Diploma of Honour for Clinical Radiological Anatomy of the head and neck. Maria has been involved in the placement and restoration of dental implants since 1997. Since then has placed in excess of 7000 implants, completed over 200 cases of full arch immediate loading.

Biography: RDN DipD Hyg DipD Ther GDC reg no 185415I qualified as a dental hygienist and therapist in 2011 from Newcastle University, having previously worked in dentistry as a fully qualified dental nurse.  I work five and a half days a week and I love what I do.And I love the variety of people I meet. It may appear that all I do is clean teeth, but every patient is different and requires a treatment tailored to them. You never know what you’re going to get.Education really important to me. To me it’s the most vital part of the whole appointment.I can remove the deposits from the teeth and keep my end of the bargain,but if you aren’t able to maintain your oral health at home, then all the plaque and tartar will reform quickly.Often when patients come to me for the first time, they sometimes have a mouth that has not been best cared for (often due to being nervous in the past).  I provide treatment, and sit with them afterwards, explaining to them all about their mouth and how to care for it. Subsequently when they return for their follow up appointment, their mouth has already started to show results in just a couple of weeks.  They’re so thankful for finally knowing what to do and how to do it, and they can’t believe the great feeling that oral health gives them. That’s the best bit of my job.So a typical hygiene appointment with me consists of removing plaque/tartar, polishing the teeth, and then showing you how to make positive changes to your oral hygiene regime, encouraging you to keep up the standard for your mouth that we’ve just achieved in the hygiene session.In Addition to working at Clinic 95, I am also a Tutor Dental Therapist at The Eastman and a SDA Trainer for EMS Dental.Follow me on Instagram @thegumsguy

Biography: Originally trained as a beauty therapist and hold a diploma in anatomy and physiology and a degree in spa and salon management from Derby University. I started at Clinic 95 as a trainee dental nurse and then changed over to the admin department.I do really love meeting all the new people who come through the clinic.  And I absolutely adore helping with the ‘Fast and Fixed’ cases - the transformations are incredible to see.Best thing about working at Clinic 95? We’re like a big family here and I hope that comes across to the patients - that this is a truly warm and friendly environment to be in - no grumpy dentists doing scary things!  Our staff is so knowledgeable and patient and passionate about what they’re doing.  And it’s great for me to see all to new and inventive dental treatments - it’s so interesting.If I wasn’t doing this I think events coordinator might have been another path for me - I love a party!  And on the flip side, I’d run a mile if I had to do anything like pest control...  I am NOT good with bugs.Celebrity teeth seem to be big news at the moment - there’s always something who has had their teeth done well (or done badly, in some cases).  I think the nicest are Cheryl’s (Fernandez or whatever her name is now!).My favourite dental quote? You don’t have to brush all your teeth... just the ones you want to keep.When I’m not at work, you’ll find me either running, or in a spin, yoga, or boxing class.  And after all that strenuous stuff, you’ll find me socialising with friends - my absolute favourite thing to do.

In parallel to her studies, she was working in NHS and private practices with her focus always on periodontology, going the extra mile to educate patients about the importance of gums health and working closely with dentists and hygienists. I’ll tell you what, dealing with a patient who is actually frightened of dental surgery and being able to calm, reassure and then give them a really positive, pain-free experience is tremendously satisfying. And the best thing about working at Clinic95?  It’s a really professional team here with excellent working conditions.  This is the only dental practice that I work at that has a proper air conditioned operating theatre. It’s the best possible environment in which to work.

Biography: Joanna is passionate about her dentistry, she enjoys working with her patients and using her 15 years of experience to get the best possible outcomes.Graduating from Sheffield University in 2007, Joanna has practised in both NHS and private practices around the UK. She has worked in a sedation practice for the first 5 years of her career where she learned how to sedate patients with IV and inhalation sedation in addition to completing SAAD courses.In 2011, she then completed a 2-year hands on course in Implantology at Sheffield University. Since then she been placing implants of increasing complexity for 9 years and has used a variety of different implant systems.
