Biography: Dr. Vikas Gowd had undergone training in U.S.A., Switzerland & Germany in surgical & prosthodontic phases in dental implants, advanced bone grafting procedures & tissue regeneration around implants, practices exclusive implant dentistry. He is also a Member and Fellow of International Congress of Oral Implantologist. He has undergone extensive training in a number of implant systems.Dr Vikas Gowd was the first Indian to be conferred expert in implantologist by the(BDCI EDI) European Association of Implantologist BDCI EDI. He also holds the honour of having conducted clinical study of bone regeneration from [Treatment name removed] which were differentiated into osteoblasts along with RE GROW.A further specialization in Prosthodontics allowed for several people who lost teeth in accidents had their teeth replaced either fully or partially. “Now, we have implant dentures where there is no pain and the patient can chew normally”, days Dr. Gowd, adding, “We also have maxilla-facial prosthetics where if there is loss of any part of jaw due to burns or injury or cancer we replace it with correct matching material”, demonstrating the leaps dentistry has made in the past several decades.

Gowd has the prestige of being the first dentist of Andhra Pradesh to serve as the president of Indian Prosthodontic Society. Dr. Gowd is also the first person to be selected as the official dentist for the Governor, and has been a consultant to the Governor for the last 17 years.Performing surgeries including cosmetic and maxillofacial surgeries regularly at facilities like Apollo Hospital, Dr. Gowd brings a rich experience of 40 years, and has witnessed tremendous developments in the practice of dentistry, beginning with public awareness, tools and technology, organization of clinics, and introduction of cosmetic surgeries to several cutting edge solutions. “Initially, only Chinese used to perform dental treatments and we had to struggle to get recognized.
