In 2003, Magaly's passion for skin led to her attaining the internationally acclaimed CIDESCO and ITEC Diplomas, the world’s most prestigious qualifications in the field of esthetics and beauty therapy. She has over 14 years nursing experience in the medical/cosmetic field, spending the first 10 years working for the most reputable and leading cosmetic clinics in Sydney where she held a Clinical Director role.

She continued additional studies and in 1980 she completed the training required to qualify as a Paediatrician. In 1986 Dr. Barrera and her family migrated to Australia where she began further medical training and in 1992 qualified as a General Practitioner obtaining a fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
