Biography: He was born in Trabzon, Turkey in 1972. After completing primary, secondary, and high school education in Trabzon. He started medical education at the Gülhane Military Medical Academy, Military Medicine Faculty (GMMA) in 1989 and graduated in 1996 in Ankara. As a result of his scientific studies, he received an Associate Professor degree in Surgery in 2015. Between 2016-2019, he worked as an Assoc. Prof. of Surgery in SBU Hamidiye Faculty of Medicine, Department of General Surgery. In 2018, he worked with World-renowned Obesity Surgeons in Belgium, took part in the team of Bruno Dillemans, and gained valuable experience in bariatric surgery. He has participated in over 2500 bariatric operations to date. Prof. Dr Ahmet Ziya Balta is one of the best surgeons in his field, especially due to his military experience. Biography: Op. Dr. Mustafa Coşkun was born in Erzurum in 1975. He finished primary and secondary school in Erzurum. He started studying at Gülhane Military Medical Academy Military Medicine Faculty in 1992 and graduated in 1999. He served in the 12th Mechanized Infantry Brigade in Ağrı as infirmary chief, medical company commander, and health branch manager until 2002. He successfully passed the medical specialization exam in 2002 and received general surgery specialization training for 4 years at the GATA Haydarpaşa Training Hospital General Surgery Service. He completed his training as a General Surgery Specialist in 2006 and was appointed to Diyarbakır Military Hospital. After working here as a general surgery specialist for four years, he was appointed to Istanbul Gümüşsuyu Military Hospital in 2016, after four years at Çorlu Military Hospital, where he was appointed in 2010, and two years at Hakkari Military Hospital, where he was appointed in 2014. After the closure of military hospitals in Turkey, he worked as a general surgery specialist and Chairman of the Health Board at the Sultan Abdulhamit Han Training and Research Hospital, Şişli Etfal Training and Research Hospital, and Taksim Training and Research Hospital, which are affiliated to the Ministry of Health, respectively. He retired from public service in August 2021. He worked with Dr Ahmet Ziya Balta in the first ten years of his specialization in General Surgery, in the last six years of his specialization period, as well as during and after his public service for obesity and bariatric surgery. Op. Dr Mustafa Coşkun is one of the best doctors in his field, especially due to his military experience. Together with Prof. Dr Ahmet Ziya Balta, he continues to provide diagnosis and treatment services on obesity and metabolic-bariatric surgery at an international medical platform, Flash Cure Med.
