About Great Northern Physiotherapy

At Great Northern Physiotherapy we offer a range of musculoskeletal physiotherapy treatments including massage, joint and soft tissue mobilisation and manipulation. We offer acupuncture, electro-acupuncture dry needling and cupping. We offer a range of electrotherapy including Ultrasound, TENS and neuromuscular facilitation. We have specialist Running Lab services including lactate threshold assessments, video gait analysis, injury prevention and one to one and group running  coaching. We offer 1-1 life coaching and workshop/education sessions. We offer specific exercise classes in our purpose built gym studio.

Biography: Becky qualified as a Physiotherapist at The University of Northumbria in 2002. Since then she has gained extensive clinical experience in both the NHS and private sectors. She has an holistic approach to treatment and is highly skilled in manual therapy, acupuncture, cupping and life coaching. She is passionate about patient centred care and working with individuals to achieve their fitness goals, improve knowledge of their conditions and help increase independence and self management. Becky is currently in the final stages of her Masters degree in Pain Science and Management at Keele University.

Biography: Phil completed his undergraduate physiotherapy training at Sheffield Hallam University and he has spent the last 10 years gaining extensive clinical experience and post graduate training developing an excellent reputation as a physiotherapist and running coach. In addition to his role as director at Great Northern Physiotherapy, Phil also maintains a role within the NHS as an Extended Scope Physiotherapist and clinical specialist in the diagnosis and management of complex musculoskeletal conditions and he has held lecturing roles at Hull and Lincoln University. He has successfully completed his Master’s degree (Advanced Clinical practice in Musculoskeletal studies) at Teeside University with his dissertation thesis based on his special interest of injury prevention in athletes.
