Biography: Dr. Bassel Chaykhouny is the Medical Director of the hearLIFE Clinic Dubai.He is a French Board Certified Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) Specialist from Henri Poincaré University and holds a Doctor of Medicine from the Aleppo University in Syria.Dr. Chaykhouny’s clinical experience includes more than 20 years of ENT practice in Europe and the Middle East. He has served over 6 years in Brabois Hospital, Nancy, France, as well as over 3 years in Nancy Central Hospital, where he focused mainly on maxillofacial cases. He has over 15 years of experience in running his own private clinic as well as heading the ENT departments in two private hospitals, Al Amal and Martini Hospitals, in Aleppo, Syria. Dr. Chaykhouny is a member of the French and Syrian Society of ENT & Face and Neck Surgery. Along his professional career Dr. Chaykhouny has always shown great support in serving the community such as volunteering as ENT specialist at SOS Children Village, providing free medical services to more than 500 children and educating them about health related matters.Dr. Chaykhouny has a special interest in the field of Otology and the treatment of vertigo and is keeping himself always updated on the latest state of science and best practices through attendance in international scientific events.

Biography: Univ. Prof. Dr. Georg M. Sprinzl is Professor of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the state hospital of St. Pölten, Austria and is head of the ENT department there. He was the Vice Head of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery in Innsbruck, Austria, where he focused on stapes surgery, surgery of active middle ear implants and cochlear implantation as well as on neuro-otologic and oncologic skull base surgery. Dr. Sprinzl was trained in skull base surgery by Prof. Werner in Marburg, Germany and was responsible for the cochlear implantation program there.In Innsbruck he developed a continuing education program for surgeons involved in cochlear implantation and Vibrant Soundbridge surgery. Sprinzl is principal investigator of several clinical trials in the field of hearing implants.He has a special interest in the topics of sound localization and speech perception in bilateral users of the Vibrant Soundbridge. His main research interests are in the development of new atraumatic cochlear implant electrodes for the restoration of residual hearing. Dr. Sprinzl has a special focus on elderly patients suffering from presbycusis. He is currently involved in several quality of life studies for measuring the outcomes of hearing implant surgery. Dr. Sprinzl has published over 60 articles in peer-reviewed journals. He regularly publishes articles in various areas of otolaryngology and head and neck oncology. Due to the development of the educational program he is heavily involved in clinical teaching and has been invited to perform surgery in many countries.
