Biography: He was born in Iskenderun in 1960. In 1984, Istanbul University completed the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine. In 1986 he started to specialize in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Şişli Etfal Hospital. In 1990, he worked at the Coventry - Warwickshire Plastic Surgery Unit in England . He also studied microsurgery in Kantonsspital Aarau, Switzerland. He completed his specialty in 1991. In 1993, he was educated at the Texas Medical Center in Houston, USA and trained in microsurgery at Baylor Medical School. In 1998, Chief Muavini took the title of Associate Professor in 2000. Between 2001-2004, she worked as a Clinical Supervisor at the Department of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at Şişli Etfal Hospital . In 2007 he received his Professor title at Maltepe Universitesi. He is a member of the International Society of Asthma and Plastic Surgery, The Rhinoplasty Society and the American Academy for Facial Plastic and Reconstructive. Turkish Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Association and Member of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Reconstructive Microsurgery Society and Member of the Congress Organization Committee. During the period of 2012-2014, he was the President of Turkish Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Association . Ismail Kuran was elected a member of the Board of Directors at the The Rhinoplasty Society meeting held in San Diego, USA on April 27, 2017.
