Biography: He has been the principal dentist at Kanata North Dental Office from the time he took the practice in 2003. He previously worked as an associate in different dental offices in the Ottawa area. Although he had experienced living in other countries, he decided to settle in the Ottawa area and call it home in 2002. Since then, he has maintained and surpassed level of care known to patients since 1996. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 2001 as Doctor of Medical Dentistry. From the start, he has been aiming for excellence. In 2002, he took a one-year residency program at the University of Pennsylvania to perfect his skills and obtained his certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry. Excellence demands continued education. He has been taking –and still is –numerous post-graduate courses and training sessions with particular interest in orthodontics, cosmetic dentistry, endodontics and practice management. He is a member of the Ontario Dental Association, the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and the International Association of Orthodontics. He is a family man who lives in Kanata, the community where he works and that he knows well. He likes to share activities and spend quality time with his two children, Daniel and Vanessa, with his family and his friends. He loves a squash game and is a fitness enthusiast. Dr. Assad is interested in what happens in his community, his country and the world, in all sorts of fields. He likes to keep up through reading and the media. He is always supported by at least one other dentist who shares his practice philosophy and helps delivering quality dental and oral services over a flexible schedule.
