About Lathom Physiotherapy Centre
Established in 1991, Lathom Physiotherapy Centre has six chartered physiotherapists, all of whom are members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists and are registered with the Health Professions Council, and a sports massage therapist.
We specialise in the management of musculoskeletal conditions but each of us has our own areas of special interest and Post Graduate qualifications, including membership of the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists, Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists, and physiofirst, the organisation for private practitioners.

Biography: She worked at Whiston Hospital until 1991, from 1989 until 1991 she held the post of Superintendent Musculoskeletal Practitioner, with specific roles in staff training and the development of physiotherapy within G.P. practice premises

Mr Grahame Robertson

Biography: He qualified as a physiotherapist in 1990 from the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham. Since qualifying Grahame has worked within both the NHS and private sector, specialising since 1993 in the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders.

Mrs Kate Wilkinson

Biography: Kate qualified as a physiotherapist in 1986 from Teeside Polytechnic, since qualifying Kate has worked both within the NHS and private sector. During this time she has worked across a variety of settings, including NHS hospitals, GP practices and in physiotherapy private practice, gaining general experience rotating around the hospitals in Liverpool before specialising in the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders in 1992, completing an MACP accredited course in 1994. After the arrival of her children, Kate concentrated her work in the private sector, and more recently within the NHS for Aintree NHS Trust. Kate enjoys working in all areas of musculoskeletal problems, having a particular interest in the ‘dreaded shoulder joint’. In her spare time Kate enjoys ‘the good life’ managing her polytunnel or attending to her chickens and bees.

Ms Jackie Hindle

Biography: Jackie is a lecturer on the physiotherapy programmes in the Department of Health Professions, Faculty of Health, Psychology and Social Care, Manchester Metropolitan University. Jackie qualified as a physiotherapist in 1986 and has worked in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in the NHS in both primary, secondary care and in private practice. In 1999 Jackie took on the role of lecturer practitioner at the Manchester School of Physiotherapy, teaching on the undergraduate physiotherapy programme. In 2002, she took on a full time academic role as a lecturer on the physiotherapy programmes at Manchester Met gaining PGDip in Manual Therapy, leading to MSc in Manual Therapy in 2007. Currently Jackie is the joint unit lead for the Manual Therapy pathway, MSc Advanced Physiotherapy at Manchester Met. She teaches across the pre and post registration programmes, supervises undergraduate and post graduate projects (MSc and PhD). Her own research has focused on technology enhanced learning and has submitted to conferences such as WCPT and IFOMPT.

Mrs Elaine McBride

Biography: Elaine trained at the University of Teeside and graduated with honours in 2004. She has since been in full time employment with University Hospital Aintree NHS Trust. During this time she has experienced rotations in all aspects of physiotherapy, including working in private practice since 2007.

Mrs Jane Galbraith

Biography: Jane qualified as a Physiotherapist at Keele University in 1996. Since then she has worked within the NHS and private sector including Hospitals and GP practices, specialising in the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions for the past 20 years and has practiced acupuncture for 19 years, being a member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists. Jane currently works as a Team Leader of a musculoskeletal out-patient Department and is involved in triage, assessment and treatment of orthopaedic and musculoskeletal patients referred into the service. She is also involved in supervision of students from local Universities which she really enjoys. Although Jane specialises in all aspects of musculoskeletal problems, she has a particular interest in the treatment of post-operative patients and knee conditions.
