Biography: GDC No. 68239 Dr McCann graduated from Queens University Belfast in 1990 with a BSc degree in Anatomy, and in 1992 with his BDS degree in Dentistry. He worked in the Royal Victoria and Belfast City hospitals until 1995. In 1995 he returned to his native Fermanagh where he worked as an associate until opening his own practice in 1998. He took over the running of Maguire McCann from Dr Tom Maguire in 2003. Dr McCann’s interests include cosmetic and restorative dentistry such as crown and bridge work and root canal treatment. In 2003 he undertook a year long Diploma in Implant Dentistry from Warwick University. He is particularly interested in periodontal disease (gum disease) and in the emerging techniques aimed at restoring bone lost due to gum problems.
