Biography: Dr Georgi Stamenov, MD, OB/GYNIn an old fairytale a cunning princess asked the candidates for her hand riddles and whoever did not answer lost his head. Her question was “What always fills the heart of a man?” The answer was “HOPE”.My name is Georgi – a mere giver of hope. It is my pleasure, Georgi Stamenov, born on a cold and snowy December day in 1970. I was born and raised in the capital city of Sofia. My parents were engineers; I mean I am not a second generation doctor. I finished my secondary education in 7th High School in Sofia. I was a swot, had many excellent grades and read a lot. I graduated with a school medal which I do not know where I put. Now just books and sweet memories have left from those days. It was then that I decided to become a doctor. I was accepted. Military. Then Medical university. In my second year I decided I wanted to be a gynaecologist and in my third year I was already oriented towards reproductive endocrinology. I worked during my whole study as a hospital attendant in the delivery ward of ‘Maichin Dom’ University Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. During this period we learned and went through a lot of things. It was also a very happy and unforgettable time. I specialized in obstetrics and gynaecology in the same ‘Maichin Dom’ Hospital. 13 years ago, on 1t August 2005, we founded our ‘Nadezhda (Hope)’ clinic and we located it in the bigger Malinov clinic. These years went so fast, but left us with so many unforgettable emotions!I am married. I have three daughters, a cat and a rabbit – both of which male.Enough with my biography!Why do I have to always be “up-to-date” with the novelties in our profession? There is no way that all good things happen outside our small country. We have to be better. I am certain that we can do better because we show it all the time. We do everything possible to give those who have trusted us the best and the newest. We constantly add our own developments to everything that we learn worldwide. And most important, we don’t forget that in order to be good doctors we have to be good people and show much patience, personal attention and love to everything we undertake.Interests, hobbies, spare time: Mmm, it seems I don’t have much of a spare time.Why have I decided to work in Nadezhda (Hope) clinic? Giving hope is the meaning of my whole life.
