Biography: He returned to India in Feb. 1993 to work as Consultant Plastic Surgeon at his own 12 bedded Pioneer Hospital, Nagpur. He has the distinction of performing first Hand re-implantation and micro-vascular free flaps in central India. Since 1994, Dr.ILYAS was invited to work as Locum Senior Registrar ( 4 years) and Consultant Plastic Surgeon (10 years) nearly every year during summer (for a period of 4 to 6 months each year) to work at The University College Hospitals, London, The Middlesex Hospital and The Royal Free Hospital, London. His frequent visits abroad gave him an opportunity to update his knowledge and skills in the recent advances in the field of Plastic, cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. During his visits, he was responsible to clear the waiting list initiative which comprised of mostly the patients of breast reductions, breast augmentations, mastopexy , breast reconstruction, abdominoplasty, liposuctions (buffallow hump and back for pts. on anti- retroviral treatment) , prominent ears , scar revisions in addition to general plastic surgical procedures. Dr.ILYAS took active part in teaching and academic activities of the department.
