Dr Martin Long

Biography: He was born in Vancouver, BC. He was raised in Sylvan Lake, AB and in 1978 he graduated from H.J. Cody High School. Martin went on to receive a BSc with Distinction in 1981 and his DDS in 1985 from the University of Alberta. He along with his partner Ed Mueller established St Albert Dental Centre in 1987. Martin has strived throughout his dental career to stay informed with current trends by attending continuing education courses. He maintains a strong professional relationship with all his patients. He has been married to his wife Elizabeth since 1987. Their daughters Nicole and Courtney have also graduated from the University of Alberta. Although Martin no longer plays hockey, he remains an avid golfer. Currently on medical leave, he plans on returning part time in 2017. He is extremely grateful for the heartfelt wishes from his patients and the loyalty of his staff.
Dr Edwin Mueller

Biography: He was born in Medicine Hat and was raised in Edmonton. He attended Bonnie Doon High School and received his Bachelor of Science and DDS from the University of Alberta in 1985. Dr. Mueller has been in partnership with Dr. Long in St. Albert Centre since 1987. He is an avid learner. He has achieved his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry, and continues to seek out the latest advances in dentistry. He has travelled to Guatemala on a dental mission and also volunteered at the SHINE Dental Centre, where he supervised University of Alberta dental students working inside the Boyle MacCauley Dental Clinic. He enjoys keeping active with his wife and three sons. As a resident of St. Albert, he enjoys winter sports including hockey and skiing, and enjoys running along our beautiful river trails.

Biography: Born- Unity Sask, (1962). Grade School- Reward, SK., Biggar, SK., N. Battleford, SK. University- U. Of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon SK. (Dental Graduate 1986). Dental Practice- Edmonton, AB. (22 years). Memberships- College of Dental Surgeons of Saskatchewan (past member): Alberta Dental Association, Edmonton and District Dental Society, International Association for Orthodontics, American Association for Functional Orthodontics and Orthotropic Society. Married- Valerie (Carlson) Jansen (born- Hawarden, SK.). He enjoys a variety of sports. He has played hockey his whole life, and enjoys the regular Friday game with a group of dentists in Edmonton. He enjoys running and he has 3 marathons, several half marathons and various other races under his belt. He has also enjoyed curling for over 25 years, with the dental league in Edmonton has been his main venue. In 2008, Dr Jansen sold the Edmonton practice to reduce his work hours. A lunch with Dr Mueller and Dr Long was all it took to find a great dental office to begin the next phase of his dental career.
