Dr Frank Martin

Biography: MBBS, FRACS, FRANZCO. pecialises in paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus. was head of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead for 22 years and is currently a Visiting Medical Officer at the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network (the Children’s Hospital at Westmead and Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick), as well as at Sydney Eye Hospital. He is Clinical Professor in the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health and Ophthalmology at the University of Sydney. He has published over 40 articles, has written several text book chapters and is a reviewer for the British Journal of Ophthalmology. He was Editor of the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Ophthalmology for 11 years. He s past President of the Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology, he is current President of the Children’s Medical Research Institute at Westmead, the International Strabismus Association and the Asia Pacific Society of Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. In 2013 he was appointed to the Board of Trustees of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He also serves as a director of the Board of the International Council of Ophthalmology and was made an Honorary Professor of the Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center Sun Yat-sen University.

Dr Michael Jones

Biography: MBBS PhD FRANZCO. Specialises in paediatric ophthalmology, strabismus, cataract and general ophthalmology. He He undertook sub-specialty fellowship training at the Hospital for Sick Children and University of Toronto (Toronto, Canada), where he received the Morin Award for most outstanding fellow. He undertook further subspecialty training in retinoblastoma with Brenda Gallie. He is a consultant ophthalmologist at Sydney Eye Hospital and the Children’s Hospital at Westmead where he is head of the Department. He is active in advancing new surgical techniques including small-incision squint surgery and micro-incision cataract surgery. His keen interest in research has led to over 15 peer-reviewed scientific papers and completion of a Doctor of Philosophy. He is lead author of the chapter on childhood blindness in the latest edition of Wright’s Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. He is clinical lecturer at The University of Sydney and contributes to the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmology as secretary and treasurer of the strabismus society. Dr Michael Jones operates privately at Ophthalmic Surgery Centre Chatswood.

Dr Craig Donaldson

Biography: MBBS FRACS FRANZCO. Specialises in paediatric ophthalmology, strabismus, cataract and general ophthalmology. He completed his ophthalmic training at Sydney Eye Hospital (SEH) and further fellowship studies in Toronto, Canada where he was awarded the John Gabi Award for ophthalmic research. He is a consultant ophthalmologist at Sydney Eye Hospital, the Children’s Hospital at Westmead and Sydney Children’s Hospital. He has authored many papers and presented at a number of Australian and overseas conferences. As a former College of Ophthalmology (RANZCO) Council and NSW Branch committee member and current Australian Orthoptic Board (AOB) representative, Craig has a strong and respected profile within ophthalmology. He is currently chair of the Australian and New Zealand strabismus society and director of training of the Sydney Eye Hospital registrar training program.
