About The Dental Clinic Portishead
F J Dowler and Associates has been renamed, The Dental Clinic Portishead, has been taken over by dental specialists Alfonso Rao and Joseph McGill, who will continue to work in their Bristol surgeries.
Simon Robertson who has worked alongside Fran in Portishead since 1992, will continue as a dentist at the practice and two new dentists, Chris Andrew and David Head, will be welcomed to the team.

Biography: Simon qualified in 1990 from the University of Bristol. After a year of vocational training Simon joined the practice in 1992. Simon has an interest in quality general and cosmetic dentistry. In 1998 both he and Frances attended a year long post-graduate course in the different implant systems available.
Ms Sally Cantwell

Biography: Sally initially qualified as a dental nurse at the Eastman Dental hospital in London and went on to qualify as a dental hygenist at the University of Bristol Dental hospital in 1981. She joined the practice in 1993 having previously worked with Frances in another Bristol practice. Sally enjoys all aspects of her work and has a special interest in working with nervous patients. She attends many courses in order to constantly update her knowledge. She is familiar with oral hygiene measures for patients with dental implants.
Dr Chris Andrew

Biography: Chris graduated with a dental degree and also holds postgraduate diplomas in sedation and anxiety control, periodontal treatment and crown and bridgework. In 2014 he also completed a MSc in dental implantology. He strongly believes all dental treatment should be provided in a pain free, calm and professional manner. He likes to ensure that any treatment provided is thoroughly discussed and that a clear and concise treatment plan is generated for every patient.

Biography: David qualified as a dentist from in 2007 and worked in the North East of England for two years in general dentistry, community dentistry and oral and maxillofacial surgery. He then worked in , and on his return he took a general dental practice post in before moving to to specialist in oral and maxillofacial surgery. David completed his orthodontic postgraduate training at and his Membership in Orthodontics was awarded in 2015 at the Royal College of Surgeons of .
Dr Alfonso Rao

Biography: Dr Alfonso Rao worked as an oral surgeon in hospitals in until 2009 when he started working in clinics in . He completed a three year course in Implant Dentistry at the Eastman Dental Institute of London. His extensive knowledge and advanced training give him a wealth of knowledge and confidence to successfully carry out a wide range of treatments from a simple maintenance programme to full mouth rehabilitation.
