Biography: MCSP, MSOM, AACP, OCPPPMelanie graduated from Liverpool 1983. She worked as a senior NHS clinician before establishing Woolton Physiotherapy in 1991. She has continued to expand her expertise gaining membership of The Society of Orthopaedic Medicine, Acupuncture Association (AACP) and has a diploma in injection therapy. She passed M203 Ergonomic essentials including Manual therapy and DSE in 2010 (British Occupational Hygiene Society). Melanie uses her specialist skills across a wide range of conditions and has a wide and varied client base. Melanie also manages the Physiotherapy Services for local councils.Her main concern is to maintain Woolton Physiotherapy as a clinic of excellence where patients receive the best possible treatment with care and respect.

Biography: Jo graduated in 1996 from Salford University. She is a senior paediatric physiotherapist at Alder Hey Childrens Hospital working in orthopaedic trauma, burns and plastics. She has worked part-time at Woolton Physiotherapy for the past fourteen years.She has a special interest in acupuncture and has attended many advanced acupuncture courses covering a wide range of conditions. Jo has a special interest in womens health and is qualified to treat IVF related issues.

Mr Joao Lopes

Biography: Joao attended the Red Cross Private University in Lisbon. He worked for Casa Pia Atletico Futebol Clube football teams in Lisbon and had internships in S.L. Benfica Seixal Campus, working with the club’s B squad, as well as working in a wide array of hospitals and private clinics, within different settings. He was working as a Senior Physiotherapist for Pall Mall Physio in the city centre of Liverpool prior to joining Woolton Physiotherapy.Joao’s physio specialty is MSK with a particular interest in sports and lower limb injuries. He also has the ability to structure bespoke rehabilitation gym programs to support  fitness and optimum recovery. Joao has completed his vestibular rehabilitation training and can aid you during your recovery. During his free time , he enjoys nagging the clerical staff at the clinic, walking/running, going to the gym and travelling. Oh, and food.

Biography: Sania joined the team in February 2023. Sania gained a First from University of Faisalabad, Pakistan in 2018, Sania has worked as a senior Physiotherapist in Chiniot General Hospital Faisalabad, and then in the Arm Forces in the Institute of Rehabilitation. Sania moved to the UK in 2022 to study for her masters in advanced physiotherapy, which she will completed in June 2023. Sania covers all MSK issues and can be found at our Woolton and Birkenhead site. ‘I have been made to feel really welcome by all the team at Woolton and the clients are amazing, I am looking forward to a career with Woolton. in my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and cooking

Mrs Milka Zhelyazkova

Biography: Milka Qualified as a physiotherapist in 1998 in Bulgaria and worked in a hospital as a rotational physiotherapist in intensive care, respiratory care, paediatrics, neurology, orthopaedics, musculoskeletal outpatients.In 2004 she moved to the UK and continued working in Neurology. Milka did “Pain Management” and “Neurology in Physiotherapy” as a part of a Masters course at Sheffield Hallam University in 2012. Qualified as a Disability Assessor in 2016 and has been working for Woolton Physiotherapy clinic since 2018. Recently graduated from the University of Bradford and gained Postgraduate Certificate in Women’s Health to treat women experiencing menopausal symptoms, incontinence, pelvic pain, prenatal and postpartum musculoskeletal pain, as well as education prevention, and promoting wellness and exercise.Milka’s passion is women’s health with a special focus on menopausal symptoms but also offering treatment and advice in ante/post-natal rehabilitation. Post-graduate training in Acupuncture with certificate in Women’s Health, treating period pain ,incontinence , migraines , hot flushes , night sweats, endometriosis , pelvic girdle pain , low backpain in pregnancy, polycystic ovary syndrome and infertility.Milka has now completed the Mummy MOT course and excited to be able to offer this renowned service to mums at our clinics. In her free time Milka enjoys spending time with family , travelling and playing volleyball.

Mr Stelian Pislariu

Biography: Stelian graduated from Al. I. Cuza, Romania, in 2012 with a BSc in Physiotherapy and has an MSc in Physiotherapy Sport’s Injuries. Stelian worked in a private hospital in Romania during his Master courses. He decided to come to UK to enhance his skills and gain further experience to make a positive difference. He has specialised in musculoskeletal physiotherapy with focus on Shoulder rehabilitation, lower back, and lower limbs.  In the past 2 years, Stelian has qualified in Acupuncture, Mulligan concept: lower quadrant and specialised shoulder rehabilitation. He has successfully applied this in practice with great results. By enhancing his skills through these courses, he can now treat a varied case load and has exceptional ability to both motivate and provide individual treatment plans to aid a smooth recovery process. Stelian has been able to share this knowledge with his colleagues during our regular CPD training.  In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, he is a former Rugby player and enjoy Skiing all over the world.

Mr Athanasios (Saki) Batsios

Biography: Athanasios hales from a small village in Greece. He graduated from Hanze University in 2017 with a First Class BSc in Physiotherapy. Saki, as he is know in the clinic and by his clients, has worked all over Europe along with time spent at Benfica Academy. Saki has a passion for lower limb sports injuries specialising in running injuries and kinesiology taping. He has recently completed his Acupuncture qualification and Level 3 NKT (Neuro Kinetic Therapy).In his spare time, Saki enjoys socialising, spending time with friends and supporting Liverpool Football Club. Whenever he can get away, he loves returning home to see his family.
