Biography: Ercan Cihandide, MD, Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Specialist, was born in Istanbul in 1977. He graduated from one of Turkey’s best high schools, Koç High School in 1995 and finished his medical training at Marmara University School of Medicine in 2001 to receive his medical doctor diploma.He began his Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery residency at Haydarpasa Numune Teaching and Research Hospital in 2002. Throughout his medical training, he worked on the areas of Head, Neck and Breast Surgery in Nottinhgam City Hospital, UK for a three months period and Facial and Craniomaxillofacial Surgery at the Institute for Craniofacial and Reconstructive Surgery, Southfield, MI, USA for another three months period. After finishing residency by completing his education in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Microsurgery and Hand Surgery, Maxillofacial Surgery and Burns Surgery, he received his Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeon title in 2009. He completed his mandatory military service in Sirnak Military Hospital during which he received two certificates of appreciation. After this service, he accomplished his compulsory health service at Çankiri State Hospital.Since 2007, he had over 15 speeches in international overseas scientific meetings. In “Best of Turkey” competition in 2009 which was held in Istanbul during the XIII. Turkish National Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Meeting and International ISAPS course, his presentation regarding his new technique in Aesthetic Ear Surgery (Otoplasty) named “A New Approach for the Correction of Prominent Ear Deformity- The Distally Based Perichondrio-Adipo-Dermal Flap Technique” obtained the first place. After this success, he was qualified to represent Turkey showing this new approach in otoplasty in the “Best of Europe” session of II. EASAPS (European Association of Societies of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery) congress between 16-18 September 2009 in Cardiff, UK. He has many oral podium and written presentations in national and international meetings and articles in various international journals.He is a member of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS), International Confederation for Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (IPRAS), Turkish Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (EPCD), Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (TPRECD), Turkish Society for Surgery of the Hand and Upper Extremity (TEÜECD), The Turkish Medical Association (TTB). Currently he is a member of the The Koc School Alumni Association Executive Board and Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Executive Board. He is married and has one son.
